We are proud to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive four-phase renovation and improvement project for a local worship space in the Twin Cities metro area. As the general contractor, Prime General Contractors delivered thoughtful upgrades to key spaces while the facility remained fully operational — maintaining strict safety protocols and minimizing disruption for the community and staff throughout.

Project Phases:

  • Phase I – Chapel Space & East Circulation Hallway Selective demolition and removal of elevated structural concrete areas, installation of premium Vetter stone on half-walls and caps, new rift-cut oak doors and bookshelves, new carpet, and upgraded lighting.

  • Phase II – Mechanical Upgrades (Design-Build MEP) Construction of a new chiller enclosure and installation of a new chiller, plus replacement of multiple rooftop units (RTUs) and air-handling equipment in three locations within the building.

  • Phase III – Social Hall & Kitchen Replastered ceilings, installation of Modernfold operable walls, new wood wainscoting and column covers around the perimeter, acoustical wall panels, a new ritual sink, kitchen cooler/freezer with new ceiling and lighting, and upgraded plumbing fixtures — all while navigating the existing structural concrete slab.

  • Phase IV – Site Improvements Full mill and overlay of the asphalt parking lot, restriping, new signage, and construction of a new trash enclosure.

Key Challenges Successfully Managed

  • Working in a fully occupied, highly secured environment with zero tolerance for safety incidents.

  • Close collaboration with the architect, interior designer, design-build MEP and sprinkler teams, and the client’s internal finishes committee.

  • Delivering high-end finishes and complex mechanical/plumbing work with multiple stakeholders involved in every approval.

This project is a great example of Prime’s expertise in sensitive, occupied community and faith-based facilities. We’re honored to have helped create modern, beautiful, and highly functional spaces that will serve the community for generations to come.
