Prime General Contractors was pleased to participate in the most recent Hearts & Hammers project via involvement of our staff member Lane Baumgartner. Lane is also active in the the NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) - Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter. The local NAWIC Chapter provided the volunteers and sponsorship for this project.
On Friday, August 15th, 21 members of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter of the
National Women In Construction Association (NAWIC) arrived in force to provide repairs for a homeowner in need. The homeowner's name is Lisa and she is a disabled 52-year-old woman living in Anoka, Minnesota.
NAWIC partnered with Hearts & Hammers, a non-profit organization serving the Twin Cities, MN and Dallas, TX areas. The mission of Hearts & Hammers is to keep low-income people in the homes they love by providing volunteer exterior repair services.
Prime General’s own Lane Baumgartner, Accounting Manager, attended the event to provide exterior repairs and painting services. Repairs included woodpecker holes, damaged siding, window wells and doors. Though it was hot, the crew worked diligently and painted the entire home including the trim. The team also stained the natural wood features of the home.
“Without Hearts & Hammers I could not have gotten this much needed home facelift completed. I have no resources, and because I'm disabled, could not have done this myself. What a blessing Hearts & Hammers and the NAWIC was!”
The project was a success! The home was restored to much of its original glory and Lisa, the homeowner, could not have been more pleased. Thanks to Lane Baumgartner of Prime General Contractors for her leadership and participation in this project - bettering our community one volunteer project at a time!
