Prime General Contractors LLC was invited to be a part of the Exterior Insulation & Finish System (EIFS) Repair for Knollwood Place Apartments, a Sholom property.
Knollwood Place offers 153 beautifully appointed one- and two-bedroom apartment homes.
Prime General Contractors was engaged by the property owner, Sholom Community Alliance, in December of 2024 to look into a continuous leak occurring on the eighth floor of the Knollwood Place Apartment complex.
Intertek & Architectural Testing Inc. identified the leak was occurring in the Exterior Insulation & Finish System (EIFS). Locations of the leak were identified. The owner and Intertek team worked with Prime General Contractors to identify the best solution to alleviate the leaks while being cognizant of the budget.
EIFS, or Exterior Insulation & Finish System, is a type of non-load-bearing exterior cladding used in buildings, often referred to as synthetic stucco. It provides an insulated, finished surface on exterior walls and is designed for energy efficiency and weather resistance. EIFS systems are typically composed of multiple layers, including insulation, a base coat with mesh, and a finish coat.
Prime General Contractors is completing the repair and refurbishment of the eighth floor penthouse EIFS. The team met the challenge of doing this during the spring rainy season.
Located on the 17-acre Ackerberg Family Sholom West Campus in Saint Louis Park, Knollwood Place Apartments is a vibrant and welcoming older adult community.
